My passion for software development started very early when I began programming in my early teens. The first language I learned was BASIC. My childhood friend Erling Andersen and I developed a calculator and extended its functionality with some “secret Easter eggs”. All in one weekend at the age of 12-13 years. In high school I moved on to Visual Basic and some C/C++. So after high school I decided to study at a university college which offered courses in C/C++, not Java as most universities did/do. So I attended Gjøvik University College in Norway and got my bachelors degree; 'Computer Engineering - Programming' in 2004. Even though I now have experience with managed languages like Java and C#, I still stick to native C/C++. I take pride in designing smart and creative software and implement beautiful code. In the more recent years I’ve been working mostly with Win32 and Microsoft products. I must admit that I really like the platform and don't want to substitute it with anything else. Anyway, the area of computer science I like the most is networking and multimedia, like transmission of audio and video.

| Rosing-award winner! | 2005-04-26 18:11 |
Yesterday the annual Rosing Awards was announced at Radison SAS in Oslo, and the Rosing student award was awarded my project! The Rosing awards are described, at least in media, as the Norwegian IT Oscar Awards. My project 'ISlideS - Slide show generator' was nominated this spring in the student category as one of two finalists. The celebration (rosingdagen) was hosted by Anne Grossvold, a famous TV-host from NRK with several well known politicians and IT experts present.
When it was time for announcing the winners I must admit that I was extremely nervous, it didn’t get any better when Tomas Hensrud Gulla and myself was called to the stage to collect the student award. Nevertheless – right now its just joy and happiness. YESSS. :-D

| Another job offer | 2004-11-10 15:27 |
I received a job offer from VideoWeb1. I was invited to a late interview last Monday night, and was offered the job almost right away, so to speak. Videoweb1 are selling both hardware and software for surveillance. The job offered to me is to continue developing their application called Detec, which is an application that show, record and store surveillance footage. |

| Job offer | 2004-10-22 23:42 |
Yesterday I received an email from Funcom A/S with a job offer. I must admit that I didn’t think I would get an offer after the job interview. So I was very surprised and not the least happy and excited after reading the email. I'll meet Funcom 1st November to discuss the contract.
And btw: I don’t think this page will be updated very often. I’ll put my MSN project on the shelf for a while, like many other things I’ve planned. |
